Introduction to ePortfolios
“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn” (Benjamin Franklin).
Agenda
What's an ePortfolio?
In order to become successful and take off with this initiative, I will have grade levels work together in they creation of their personal ePortfolios to allow that cohesiveness to guide their conversations and discuss what would work best with their schedules and future upcoming school lessons/ school year agenda
The implementation process will include minimum 50 hours of trading and development throughout the school year with this including district PD days,PLC’s on campus and Intersession workshops.
As the project facilitator, I would be leading the trainings for the most part. Technology team will assist with any questions teachers may have during their personal creation and or facilitation.Once more teachers at the pilot school get comfortable, they will be given the opportunity to present or become support aids in the following year.
Teachers must obtain comprehensive training that involves cooperation, modeling, and application in order for the ePortfolio adoption to be effective. This should be done over time to allow for deeper learning, and it should be done in a style that is appropriate for their grade level and material. Teachers will get familiar with ePortfolios and its potential during the course of the one-year professional learning course, construct their own ePortfolios, and learn how to utilize ePortfolios as a tool with their students to aid students in establishing their own ePortfolios.
