When I applied for the program in September 2021, I thought to myself, is this really going to work out and should I really be doing a Masters program while in my first year of teaching? I don’t know what convinced me to take that leap and start this program but I’m thanking myself for jumping in head first into the program. On completing this course I still believe there’s room for improvement in the time management aspect. With working a full-time job as a kindergarten teacher and going to school full-time it could be a lot. What did help me was relying on my learning community, even though they weren’t in the same course at the same time as I was. Originally I was supposed to be in two courses in the first fall semester, but I got put into a class that I already took, so it wouldn’t allow me to take this class with my original cohort. The members of my learning community were Andrea Harrell,Kelven Wilson,Chastity Crissman, and Andrei Dobrodumov .They were still willing to help me, even though they had finished the program. Also, I also am part of a larger group for both courses 5315 and 5317 that consists of Charlie, Kelvin, Ileana, Erica, Andrea, Kim, Stephen, Karin, Pedro, Andre, and others.I was proud of myself for not hesitating to ask for help or advice from these individuals. That support system is like no other, especially when we all have busy lives away from our jobs and this program. We started this lost course. It was a bitter, sweet feeling. Once I dove into the course, it consisted of one big word to sum it up.Reflect. The first assignment was the COVA reflection. This was our chance to reflect on the whole year.reflection.. This was our chance to reflect on the whole year that we have used this acronym, and to see how our minds have shifted. This was our chance to reflect on the whole year that we have use this acronym, and to see how our minds have shifted, perspectives, and how we have taken in and initiated it with our innovation plan. This concept was hard for me in the first couple of classes because I was always in a school and work environment that was structured and we didn’t have a choice, so grasping the concept that I got to choose how I wanted to do, the assignment didn’t sit well with me, the second assignment that was part of this course was our innovation plan update. This update was to dive into ways to dive into our innovation plan.was to dive into our innovation plan and to see what had been effective or if it had even been implemented. Though my innovation plan has not been implemented, there have been steps to move forward, even with the circumstances that I have had change. The final assignment was the synthesis page that ties all of our courses together. This was the summary of our program and had to have a little of every class reflected on this certain page. The assignment was time consuming, but got to see all the moving pieces come together on this one final page.
