This 8 week course semester was admit the busiest and most stressful part of the school year. Coming back from spring break with two new classes and crunch time for the highly unliked standardized test was a significant load with being new to my grade level and new to the job. When class started I truly thought I was going to have to put this part of my education on hold.If it weren't for my larger learning community, I wouldn't even be writing this final contribution compilation post. The amount of feedback and support this group offers amazes me. It allows us to hold each other accountable no matter what our own unique situations. Creating Significant Learning Environments (5313) with Dr. Still was one of the ADL courses in my eight week semester. She really was adamant in letting us display our knowledge and incorporating our learning environments in our own way. We began the course with creating our learning philosophy which gave us the opportunity to reflect on our own learning experiences and what experiences we would like to give to our own learners. Then,we created a BHAG and 3 column table to dive into a lesson with them being outcome driven. And lastly, we ended with a growth mindset plan to bring the course together with the learner's environment being our main priority.
In the semester of 5389, we were able to create .Then we took a view on how we would incorporate our innovation plan and put it through a year-long schedule with setting up the professional development sessions based on professional development days throughout the school year. The final project was to create an actual professional learning session. Though I have been to many professional learning sessions, I never knew how much planning and preparation this took. Many of those professional sessions were more productive than others, so I knew I had to have a hands on approach rather than the sit and get. In my professional learning, I made sure to incorporate directions and have the learners active in creating their own ePortfolio during the session to ensure hands on approach and support.
