Communication is needed in anything and everything you do whether it comes to jobs, relationships,or just the simple fact if a conversation. The two most important things about communicating is what is being communicated and how it is being communicated. In red for a change to occur a conversation that is needed is called a crucial conversation.

In a crucial conversation there are three features that include high stakes, strong emotions, and different opinions. In order to have these conversations there are steps to make sure the deliverance of the conversation heard.

The steps in order to get through these conversations are

  1. Getting unstuck by getting everyones input

  2. Starting with the heart- focus on what we want

  3. Learning to look-when people dont feel safe and they dont share their thoughts

  4. Making it safe- create the safety for yourself and others

  5. Mastering stories-don't let negative emotions lead us stray, these crucial conversation provide skills to provide skills to control emotions or create new emotion that get them back to open communication

  6. State my path- express your thoughts directly and respectfully

  7. Seek other perspectives and get their ideas into the dicussion

  8. Move to action- change occurs when able to make good decision and put discussions into actions

Having a why gives you a purpose to put what you desire into action. In my "why," I discuss how and why students should utilize an ePortfolio in the classroom. What I hope to attain is the ability to use EPortfolios in the classroom that will allow students to take actual responsibility of displaying their learning throughout their academic careers. The students' development on their EPortfolio can be used to gauge this. To begin the implementation process, everyone who is affected must be influenced to complete the task at hand, which is to install the ePortfolio. The two methods of four disciplines of execution (4DX) and utilising the five phases will be used to implement change in the learning community.
