Our "why's" and "truths"

“We only do something if it effects our personal truth…” (Asacker 2014) This statement that Asacker had presented had made me stop and think about the changes in my life and why they were made. For the most part ot applies to every change I could think of. Change occurs when we face the facts and truths of what is happening or keeps occuring whether it be bad or good.In a personal level where we for the most part have self governance of our actions and perceptions we are willing to change something if it indeed affects our personal truths. As for our "whys", change isn't always that of our personal truths. For instance being an elementary school teacher my why has been the children.IIt is the smiles of the faces when they come to school when one's parents have been fighting all week and a car is taken over by the other parent in spite and the kid finally gets to go to school. That is only a glimpse of a personal why story. In a school district change is constant whether we are up for it or not. One would think its "for the kids" but in reality our "whys" and "truths' have us hesiatant and often aren't always on board for these changes simply due to our "whys" and "truths".
